My name is Mimi! Soon after adoption I began attacking the other two resident cats. I don’t have any teeth, but I bit anyways & got some claws in. My guardians weren’t sure if I would fit into their family but with Shani’s guidance, my environment was altered & we all found harmony! I am a senior cat who was originally surrendered to a high-volume shelter in Phoenix. I was scared for my life, so I am thrilled to have found my true forever home! Its Mouse here! What’s up y’all! I found myself in a real predicament when my previous guardian up & moved to Florida. I was excited for those sandy beaches but wouldn’t you guess, he left me behind! I found myself in a cage at a Rescue & was MAD. I then was taken to the Humane Society of Sedona & every human in my path got a swat, growl & sometimes a bite! I never thought I would trust again until I met Shani, my temporary human. No matter how many times I tried to push her away, she never gave up on me. A few months later I was back to my total lap cat self. Even better, I found the most perfect home. My house is huge, with cats, an old Pug that I tolerate & two perfect humans. When everyone wanted to give up, Shani didn’t.

I was born outside. My family & I hung out at a local resort. My mom & two siblings eventually got rescued but my brother & I eluded the traps. Then my brother was killed by wildlife & I was traumatized! I just knew I didn’t want to be outside anymore. The problem was, I wasn’t used to humans & would only see them at a distance. So at first, being inside was terrifying & I felt super defensive. I mean like swatting, lunging & yes, I bit. Humans were scary & being inside was suffocating! Shani spent hours working with me & she was the first human I trusted. She never forced me to do anything & gave me my power back! In just 3 weeks I found a super loving home with humans, a baby even, a new cat brother & two big dogs! I’m the sweetest cat! I wouldn’t have made it without Shani’s guidance.

Little Georgie here! I was a solo kitten found living outside at 2 months old & they just weren’t ready for me! I was like a little wolverine, tiny but mighty & very assertive! I wanted to trust humans, but they kept picking me up & holding me; I did NOT like that. So, duh, I started biting fools! I really needed to be with other kittens, but I got sick & had to quarantine. I know y’all know the pain of that! It just further delayed me. Then came the persistence of Shani & boy, is she persistent. I was a tough case- aversive to humans & cats! I tried to resist Shani’s behavior plan, but I finally saw the positive side. Here I am now, living with a lovely family, with kids & other cats even! The road to socialization was paved with obstacles, but Shani kicked them out the way. Thanks Lady!

I cannot express how grateful I am for Shani’s help. I have five cats in two cycles. The first three are 5 and the last two are 2. I slowly watched one of my first girls become harassed & outcasted by the younger cats & didn’t know what to do! Frankie was sleeping outside, never came in & was always very stressed to bolt in, eat, & get out. I reached out to Shani, who explained so much. She taught me a lot about how their minds work & what needed to change. After just a few weeks I was beyond SHOCKED to find Frankie sleeping in bed one night! She finally had the resources to claim her place in the family & I couldn’t be more thrilled. Seriously heart warming. Thank you so much Shani!!!
